This look began with a military inspired OD Green jacket I purchased at
the thrift store for less than $1....Wohoooo!!! One man's junk is another
man's treasure. The fact that it came with a belt, to cinch in my waist,
I was all over it without question. For all those women who are smaller on the top and larger on the bottom, cinching in your waist is a great way to tastefully
show off your assets without showing your assets. (hint hint wink wink)
To break-up the look, I opted for a polka dot blouse instead of a solid colored top.
On the bottom, I added a bold POP of red because I feel that red goes so well with this shade of green.
Lastly, I finished the look off with a camel colored wedge and a Celine inspired bag I purchased on E-bay for a very affordable price.
Moving Day is quickly approaching and I am currently sifting and packing everything away. When it comes to my accessories....and everything else, I want to make sure ALL items are packed away properly so I don't have a headache on the other end. Since everything must go, I decided to use a sham cover to roll my necklaces. This prevents it from tangling and being a HOT MESS when you arrive on the other end. If you are a visual person, I have posted pics. Enjoy!
Lay one necklace flat on the fabric
Roll it over
Continue the process
Whah Lah!!....Your necklaces are ready to move without being tangled
The next item I prepped for packing were my earrings. Let me tell you......it is a task to keep earrings straight when you're standing still...much less trying to package them for moving. For sanity sake, it is important for me to stay organized throughout the move. The method Is good in every situation. I love that I am able to see all of the earrings at one glance. All you need is a hanger, a piece of fabric and a hot glue glue. This assembly will keep all your earring (clip-ons & hooks) and broaches sorted and organized.
Earring Organizer
The last item I packed was my bracelets, watches and bangles. I used a necklace to keep them all together.

If you are moving or traveling in the near future, I hope this was some help. Remember to have fun with your style and stay beautiful!
Fall is right around the corner and I am so ready to go shopping I can't
contain myself. BUT.... before I dash out
the door for retail therapy, I decided to put together some things I
already have in my closet. To begin, I decided to remix an item I have
already blogged about in (Icing On The Cake).
I decided on adding a fitted blouse, buttoned completely up with a
simple necklace....a trend I am loving. The look was finished off with a
simple clutch and a pair of peep toe pumps.
On the second look, I was thinking harem....I love me some harem pants! I don't know if it was my past love for the hammer pants or how comfortable they feel. I will take both reasons for now. I simply folded the top of the jumper around my hips and whah-lah.....you have harem pants.Since the look was so plain, I decided to wear a turban inspired head wrap to add some contrast. Head wraps are a very stylish way to add a little "sum SUM" to any outfit so it's great to keep pieces of fabric on hand.

NY&C is one of my favorite places to shop for essential items like cardigans, blazers, trousers, skirts and accessories because they consistently offer great sales and quality items. So when I saw these "tin man" pants on the table....along with an assortment of other colors, I had to snag them for a little flare in the wardrobe. The fit and the price was so nice, I was compelled to purchase a couple more in different colors. The two looks in this video can be worn for daytime and night time looks. In the monochromatic look, I wanted to make a complete statement with this look so I paired similar tints, tones, and shades of a single color together instead of allowing the pants to take center stage. In the black, contoured look, I love how my cropped blazer gave off a tapered appearance with the contrast between the black and the white. To finish both looks off, I remained pretty simple with the accessories.
Tip: Do you have a bold pair of pants in your wardrobe you love......but you don't know what to do with it? Try the monochromatic look. Just simply find a shirt of a similar shade and pair the two items together. Then add the accessories to tie it all together. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.

Today's blog post is extremely special to me because I get to give thanks to a strong, smart and vivacious woman who is so thoughtful and selfless when it comes to helping others. My Mom is a unique angel sent from above and I wish I had a way to express my gratitude for everything she has ever done to help me through all my years of growing up and becoming the woman I am. Out of all the WONDERFUL and AMAZING things she has done for me already, she sent me this beautiful skirt....yes I said skirt as a gift. I knew when I opened the box, I had to show it off on my blog. The skirt is the star of the show and everything else is backup. So when I received it as a skirt, I knew I had to let it stand on it's own in some way or another. In the end, I decided to wear it as a dress instead of a skirt. I selected shoes and accessories that complimented the look without stealing the thunder of the skirt/dress. Mom, I hope I did you proud and thank you SOOOO much for everything you have done for me in my lifetime. I love you!
Tip: Long skirts can give you multiple options when looking for different looks. Try this same idea with a skirt in your closet, along with a belt to cinch in your waist. Pair the look with some cute accessories and you are ready to go. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.
I love when I get the opportunity to represent the red, white and blue. The Olympics 2012 in London has been going for about a week and I was inspired to complete an Olympic/USA Chic look. What do you think? All this week I have been rocking my blazers and I said "self, why not rock it one more time for the USA"...lol. Well here it is paired with two different rinses of denim and pops of red everywhere. Since I had SO much leg showing, I made it a point to cover up everything else. Ladies, never give them too much..A little goes a long way. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.

How many times have you had two places to go and not enough time in between? In today's look, I am ready for work and play. Lately, I have been on a blazer kick because it adds a little bit of pizazz and structure to a look. Regardless if it's Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter a blazer can upgrade your look without question. Most of all, a blazer is one of those essential item that will remain timeless in your wardrobe. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful

When everyone is getting ready for the fall and winter season, I am purchasing items for the next summer and spring. Shopping in the off season is the best time to purchase essential pieces for your wardrobe at a super affordable price. No need to worry about staying on trend because essential items will always play a useful role in your wardrobe. In this look today, I am wearing a dress I found on the sales rack at Tar-Jay for $12. I added a cropped blazer to the look to break up the busy pattern in the dress and to give the eye something else to look at. Some stores have already started to drop their prices so keep your eyes peeled for some fabulous finds. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.
In today's look, my floral pants got some more showtime! The comfort, cut and look of the pants are so nice...I wished I bought more in different colors. I kept things light and bright on top with a basic white tee and a white blazer to add structure. The jacket really offered a bit of maturity to the floral pants. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful. Listed below are links to similar items.
Have you heard of Janelle Monae? If you haven't, you should check her out! I love her signature style so much, I was inspired to create a similar look. In today's outfit, I remixed my banana cropped pants....the same style in the previous post and paired it my chambray top. The look was finished off with a black belt I used as a bow tie. I really had fun with my style...Did you? Stay Beautiful.
Double Take Tuesday: Having essential pieces in your wardrobe will give you endless option on style ideas. Items that were remixed today was the chambray blouse and banana cropped pants.

The dark colors in my closet don't receive much love during the warmer parts of the year, In today's outfit, instead of pushing it to the side, I embraced the darkness with a pop of brightness to "sumer-fy" my look.
A little pop goes a long way. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.
I move to have Casual Friday everyday! Denim is so comfortable and it's one of those items you can dress up or down. Today I had some things to take care of around town and I decided to keep it comfortable and casual. My love for colors pushed me towards my green striped tee and a plum colored cardigan. I paired the two with a pair of dark denim pants. The look was finished off with minimal accessories. Have run with your style and stay beautiful.
F21 is a great store to shop for affordable items. However, it
can be very overwhelming for those who prefer a more organized layout. In my
opinion, they really don’t have a rhyme or reason to the display in the store. For the sake of sanity, I prefer to shop
online in the "Love21" section because it is catered to a more mature style. During my online shopping experience I came across this lovely floral
blazer. Floral patterns are on trend this season and I am sure I will transition
this blazer right into the fall. Lookout for a bouquet of style ideas
with this purchase. Have Fun with your style and stay beautiful.
How many times have you had to rush out the door on a Monday
morning? Today was my day! I literally
got ready in record breaking time. (My husband will deny it….lol) This morning I relied on simplicity. I
selected three essential pieces from my wardrobe and tied it all together with
the shoes. I was ready to go in a matter of minutes.
In the past, I would buy an outfit for a specific event or I
would buy things because they look great in the store. In the end, nothing
really worked with what I already had……forcing me to shop again. Don’t make the
mistake I made. Treat your closet like your refrigerator. Before you go
shopping, take a look at what you already have. Make a list of the things you
need to avoid buying something that doesn’t work. The key to building an
endless wardrobe is to buy items you can style multiple ways.
The star of this OOTD is the blazer. I recently purchased the item from F21 and I couldn't resist raving about the cut and quality of the piece. This is an essential piece I am sure to wear through the summer and fall. Have fun with your style and stay beautiful!
This week I have enjoyed showing the endless options you can obtain from simple pieces in your wardrobe. This works well if you are trying to look stylish without breaking the bank. The last and final outfit is a combination of other items I have featured in previous blog post with an exception to my scarf and purse. The scarf was found at the Dollar Tree and the purse is an old purchase I made over seven years ago. Remember...keeping it simple is keeping it chic! Have fun with your style and stay beautiful.
Finding great deals and saving money is what I live for! In my outfit today, I paired the same shirt I wore on Monday's [Summer Breeze] blog post to show the options you have with one top. Simplicity is Chic and it leaves you with endless options for your wardrobe. In addition to finding a great deal on the top, the star of the outfit....the shoes....were FREE from Justfab.com! I finished the outfit off with a wooden necklace and a pair of stud earrings.
On look #3, I had the 4th of July in mind when I paired my dark denim tube top with the infamous red skirt. I love opportunities when I can be a little festive without looking like I tried too hard. What are you wearing on the 4th of July? What ever you do, have fun and enjoy. If you haven't already, check out the previous blogs to see how I styled this beautiful skirt found at the Thrift Store. Have a great 4th of July!
Chambray fabric is similar to denim and it's a great item to mix and match in any wardrobe. You can wear it to work or on the weekend. In my Day 2 look, I have accomplished a more toned down casual look for the summer. I finished the outfit off with a pair of red feather earrings and a nude pair of wedges. Have fun with your style and embrace the summer months being cool and casual.
"Summer Breeze makes me feel fine", are the words I thought when I saw this beautiful skirt at the Thrift Store. This piece embodies the essence of summer and I'm not sure why it was given away. The piece is so bold, I was led to do a series of options this week to show how you can stretch your wardrobe with one statement piece. In the next two blogs this week, you will see different looks you can accomplish with one item being the focus. I hope you stay tuned.......

Fridays are always great for Date Night or Girl's Night Out. On nights like this, you want to look great and feel comfortable at the same time. I was able to accomplish this look by taking a "high-low" skirt and wore it as a shirt. I love this top because it gives you enough coverage around the assets and enough exposure in the front. I paired the top with a pair of basic white shorts. To finish the look I selected gold accessories and a pair of stylish, yet comfortable, pair of wedges. I am ready to GO!
Date nights are hard to come by when you are a busy wife, mom, and a professional. With that being said, I am super excited when the opportunity strikes. Sequin is always fun and this look was easy for me. I paired a sequin top with a pair of white skinny jeans to keep the look bright. During the fall season, I would opt for a darker pair of pants to warm up the look. I finished everything off with accessories and shoes that compliment the tones in the top. Date nights are fun so why not dress fun?
There has been a wave of "high low" shirts and skirts this season. In addition to running out and buying some, I created the look myself with a shirt I already had lying around. I simply tucked the front in and allowed the back to hang out. I am a "hippie" girl and I love when I come across a style that allows me to camouflage the areas I least desire. Trends may come and go but your style lives forever.
Tip: If you can get a good deal on a trend, try recreating the look with something you already have. Most of all, have fun with your own style.
After having a short vacation in San Diego, I can't fight this carefree casual mood I am having. With the weather being so warm these days, I find myself constantly reaching for something that's easy breezy. My outfit today is super simple and super casual. I paired two bright bold colors and broke the look up with a tribal print scarf and a pair of neutral flats. This look is easy for anyone to pull off. Most of all, this outfit was less than $20.
Outfit Total: $18.40

Have you ever went to a store and came out with more than you expected? That happens to me all the time. On Tuesday, at Target, I was guilty again for buying more than I planned. The wedges in this blog are super comfortable, stylish, and affordable at the same time. This is a win on my part and I only hope that you all take a visit over and look for you a fabulous find. Have fun and happy shopping!
Being smart and stylish is my definition for chic and when I can combine them both together, you have endless chic style. For today, I took a skirt I featured in one of my previous blog and transformed the look. The skirt was paired with a bright colored essential t-shirt, some colorful accessories, and pop of purple on my feet. This look makes me feel happy. Cute casual look for summer.

Yes.....I am breaking out the floral pants and I didn't steal them from Nana. I have been wanting a pair so bad and I finally found a print suited for me. Just because they are black, I feel they make me look slimmer. Another trick/tip for those who are going bold with the printed pants this spring/summer, the larger the print the smaller you look. Coming from a "hippie" type girl, It works! Have fun with your style and stay beautful.

Most often times in my blog, I am ranting and raving about the fabulous finds I discover in the thrift stores. The cardigan I have today was an affordable find, I found at Tar-Jay (Target), that I couldn't resist. This cardigan is so pretty and bold at the same time. I love the detail and hardware they used to make the cardigan pop. This piece could be worn as a statement item with any neutral ensemble. Cardigans are essential items in any wardrobe and I am so happy to find this one at an affordable price.
Tip: Always keep an eye open for those pieces that could add a little "something-something" to other items you have established in your wardrobe.

I have become an avid blogger on my great affordable finds and personal style in the last few months. Today, I am SUPER excited to write about this look. Along with the jade colored pencil skirt (in a previous blog), I was able to find this beautiful canary yellow button down blouse and this bold black and white pair of tribal pants at the thrift store. For both items, I only paid $3.60. I simply paired this bold look with black and silver accessories I have collected over time (most items are super old) and I was truly pleased with how it all played out. My goal is place one solid outfit together that's purchased from the thrift store. Until then, I will continue to incorporate my affordable finds into outfits of the day.
